- Lizzie Birdsworth: [examining the TV listings in the paper] They're showing all those old films with Barbara Stanwyck this week; Double Indemnity is on tonight.
- Maxine Daniels: Yeah but MASH the movie is on. Don't tell me we have to sit around and watch old films tonight?
- Lizzie Birdsworth: Oh I've seen enough war in my time; I don't like those.
- Faye Quin: MASH is supposed to be funny.
- Lizzie Birdsworth: Too much blood! It turns me guts.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: And how are the new sleeping arrangements? You and Colleen getting along cosily?
- Meg Morris: That's none of your business.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Maybe not. But I must say I never expected you two to set up home together. You've had your little tiffs in the past, haven't you?
- Meg Morris: Nothing serious. We get on quite well actually.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Oh well. It's early days yet, isn't it? We'll just have to wait and see, wont we?
- Meg Morris: You can wait as long as you like. It suits us both just for now.
- [Meg leaves. Joan chuckles to herself]
- Maxine Daniels: Poor Paddy. Fancy getting copped the night before you get released.
- Bea Smith: Pity you don't remember that when you're dealing with that murdering bitch!
- Lizzie Birdsworth: But we gotta trade with somebody, Bea, and everyone's in it.
- Bea Smith: [raising her voice] Well everyone should just stop for a minute and take stock! They're all so busy spending they don't care who they're dealing with; but I do! And I'm taking stock of everyone that deals with Nola. And when the time comes they'll all get a lot more than what they bargained for.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: [to the police escort] Right. You can have these two, with my compliments.
- Nola McKenzie: [to Bea] Lovely day for a trial, isn't it?
- Bea Smith: Don't push your luck, Mckenzie. I might just tell them I didn't hear or see anything and you could wind up back in WA facing a hanging.
- Nola McKenzie: Perjury is against the law, Smith. Or haven't you heard?
- Nola McKenzie: The new TV.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Give yourself a pat on the back Mckenzie. Your generosity to your fellow prisoners is only exceeded by the size of your ego.
- Nola McKenzie: Anything you say, Miss Ferguson.
- Bea Smith: [looking at the new set] Hm. Black and white.
- Colleen Powell: Good luck, Quin.
- Faye Quin: Oh gee, thanks, Mrs Powell!
- Colleen Powell: *Don't* come back!
- Nola McKenzie: Nobody musters in on me!
- Bea Smith: Pretty boy words, McKenzie. But seeing you wiggle your way out of this is going to prove more entertaining than that lousy TV set.
- Nola McKenzie: I've met her type before. I know how to handle freaks like her.
- Bea Smith: I hope you're right, because around here there's only one crime worse than lagging and it's called sucking up to Ferguson. And if I ever fond out that you're dealing with the Freak, *I'll* deal with you, once and for all.
