Susan's erratic behavior continues: writing on the cell walls with lipstick, tearing her bedclothes to shreds. Lyn's work release employer calls, offering her job back. Mr. Wilson encourages Karen to take college classes during her prison term so that she will be prepared for another career other than teaching. Susan's husband sues for custody of their children, and Wilson is his attorney. Though troubled by not knowing how he makes a living, Vera continues to see George. When he reveals he deals drugs, Vera feels used; she feels so unattractive she can't believe he could like her for herself. He pursues her, claiming he truly cares for her. The former "screw," Ann Yates, is arrested for dealing, and he asks Vera to try to protect her.
