- Laurette Blake: You ever get the wind knocked out of you when you're playing?
- Sandy: Yes.
- Laurette Blake: Did you let anybody know about it?
- Sandy: No.
- Laurette Blake: Why? Because you wanted to keep on playing the game. Right?
- Sandy: I guess so.
- Laurette Blake: Well, that's what life is. You get the wind knocked out of you time after time but you just won't quit because you don't wanna stop playing the game.
- Sgt. Bill Crowley: Is that a Southern accent I detect?
- The Secretary: No, that's a slight West Texas accent. South West Texas.
- Sgt. Bill Crowley: You wanna park and go in and look?
- Royster: No way man, the last time a honky went in that place was about, eh, 1937 and they still haven't found him.
- Sgt. Bill Crowley: I think that was my old man.
- Royster: [chuckles] I hear ya.
