Marissa Cooper: [speaking to Ryan, played by Benjamin McKenzie who at this time was often described as looking like a young Russell Crowe] I dunno. Russell Crowe? He just doesn't do anything for me. I mean people say he's good looking. But I don't see it. moreSoundtrack:

It's New Year's and "love" is in the air. Kirsten's sister, Hailey Nichol returns home, and throws a party. Oliver casts his spell. Sandy and Kirsten find themselves in a rut, and out of their environment. Seth finally makes a decision between Summer and Anna. 2004 is born. Marissa and Ryan have some difficulties in expressing their feelings.
In this episode, we are introduced to Hailey, she didn't really seemed to be a good character, but she's one of the cutest in the show.
Seth chooses Anna, and that's mostly because she came to him. Samaire Armstrong is a really fun actress, (except her hair) bu her character is annoying at times.
