A friend of Jed's dies, a man that loved a drink and a good time, the tragedy makes Jed turn over a new leaf, he starts attending a mission, and turns on the demon drink.
It's a funny watch, it's quite imaginative to think of a pub landlord who's against drink. Several laughs throughout, seeing Nellie asking Gilbert what he's come as out in the street was funny. Lots of Nellie-isms and camp laughs.
The last thing you'd want at a pub is a Rector, a Rector in the form of Victor Meldrew, Wilson is very funny here as the puritan Vicar. A similar character to his one from Only when I laugh.
I said some time back that Nellie was missing an Eli type character, but Jed is actually very much the same sort of character, funny.
7/10.
