- It's less than 24 hours until Maxwell and Fran's wedding ceremony. Maxwell receives a personal visit from Sara, his first wife, who tells him that she was the one who sent Fran to him and the family. But Sara's grand plan may not happen if the bride-to-be doesn't show up. Fran, Val and Sylvia went shopping in New Jersey, and on their way back along a deserted highway, Val's car gets a flat tire, with no spare available. They have no way of contacting anyone, and Maxwell doesn't know since Fran is supposed to be staying the night with her parents. The threesome decide to walk to see if they can find any sign of civilization. Night falls and they're lost. Luckily, Val's car is spotted and Maxwell personally retrieves the threesome. But another hitch in the road to the altar comes in the form of Jocelyn, Maxwell's sister. Jocelyn tells Fran that their mother is not coming to the wedding since she despises Fran, this information which Maxwell failed to tell her. In addition, Jocelyn tells Fran that her own marriage to her former chauffeur, Lester, is ending because of their class differences. This makes Fran think that Maxwell and her marriage has no chance of success. When Fran doesn't show up at the altar, Maxwell rushes off to find her. He successfully convinces her that he loves her and that's all that matters. They kiss and live happily ever after, that is until the start of the honeymoon on a yacht, when Fran has a little mishap.—Huggo
