Second Murder, She Wrote episode to star both Jennifer Runyon and Hunt Block. They previously co-starred in Season 6, Episode 2, 'Seal of the Confessional.'
Not all Amish speak in stilted Biblical tones and stroll through bucolic settings all the time, as they are usually portrayed on TV and movies. There are many kinds of Plain People who observe a vast array of laws and traditions. While they eschew cars, some will hire drivers to cart them around. They won't have phones in their homes, but many pay non-Amish neighbors to place a telephone pole on their properties. These poles are complete with phones at the top, a la Green Acres and used sometimes for emergencies, sometimes monthly or so. They shun electricity and use gas engines to run machines but will work, for example, in an electrified sawmill if someone else owns the business. They all seem to be anti-button, though. They also talk like "regular" people, shop at Walmart and convenience stores, drink Coke and eat Doritos and Debbie Cakes.
Martha Byrne and Hunt Block both starred in As the World Turns (1956). Martha appeared as Lily Snyder from 2985-2010, while Hunt portrayed Craig Montgomery between 2000-2010.
