When Color TV Was Something Special
Jimmy_the_Gent428 August 2018
The Buells sneak into the Hubbards house to watch their color TV.

An OK episode on a type of plot used many times before, the Buells mooching off the Hubbards. Eve and Herb tell Kaye and Roger they are out for the evening even though they are not. It does not stop the Buells from coming in anyway, with Jerry and Suzie along with two other couples. Eve and Herb are forced to hide in their own house.

Everybody is watching their TV but the Hubbards.

Warning: Spoilers
Being pretty much the only house on their street with a color TV, the Hubbards must hide in their bedroom when the Buelles sneak in through their window chest, barely spotting the Hubbards as they run upstairs. Roger is writing a "Peyton Place" like primetime soap opera, and before long, other neighbors and Jerry and Susie show up, and stay on to watch the "Dean Martin Show", at point which Eve and Herb sneak out and go to the Buelles home. They decide to move their color TV up to their bedroom to stop this constant interference ends up with them laying underneath the bed when the Buelles once again invade the house, having discovered where the TV is. Kay and Roger aren't happy by the obvious statement, and sneak in with the attempt of making a truce but the Buelles hide rather than deal with them. Eve gets a great visual of being stuck in a grandfather clock that keeps going off, and the visual with Herb and her underneath the bed is very funny as well as all the previous house guests gather around there very private bedroom. The plotline of the invasive neighbors might make the Buells seem obnoxious, but for fans of the show, it keeps them endearing yet makes the viewers glad that they aren't their neighbors.
