- TriviaThe song "No Time," a retro-'50s rocker from the group's "Headquarters" album, is credited to recording engineer Hank Cicalo. The lyrics were actually penned by Micky Dolenz and Michael Nesmith; Peter Tork has described it as "it started out as a jam, then Micky and Mike got together and wrote these weird-ass lyrics." Credit was given to Cicalo as a thank-you for his work in engineering the album. The royalties Cicalo earned from album sales enabled him to purchase a house.
- GoofsDuring the teaser sequence Michael Nesmith is hatless, except for the last shot, when they is dust and rubble raining down on them, Mike suddenly wears his wool hat.

Last episode for Monty Landis
Broadcast no. 36 (Oct 2 1967), "Monkee Mayor" was the seventh and final appearance of favorite nemesis Monty Landis, also the last completed in Hollywood prior to the recording of the PISCES LP and the summer tour that followed (42nd in production, filmed June 6-8, resuming in Hollywood Sept 13). With The Monkees and their neighbors getting evicted to put up a parking lot, Mike learns that City Hall is running rampant all over town, the crooked mayor (Irwin Charone) in league with gangster Zeckenbush (Monty Landis). Their home overflowing with homeless neighbors, the group nominate Mike to run for Mayor in order for the people's voices to be heard, until Zeckenbush makes him an offer he doesn't refuse (anonymously). Watch for Billy Benedict, who later appeared in "Monkees Mind Their Manor." Musically, this second appearance for "Pleasant Valley Sunday" is complemented by the debut of "No Time," a Chuck Berry-inspired jam composed by the band themselves, but gifted to their hard working engineer, Hank Cicalo. Recorded for HEADQUARTERS Mar 28, it featured Micky on lead vocal and drums, Jones on tambourine, Nesmith on electric guitar, Tork on piano, and producer Chip Douglas on bass. Next in production- "The Monkees in Paris," shot on location at the end of June.
