The fight for Europe
JordanThomasHall20 February 2020
Martha receives a letter from an old friend detailing her trip to Europe. Martha starts working on Emmett about a European trip. Fighting for his sleep, Emmett is tricked to agree. He goes to a travel agent (Charles Irving) wanting to just get it in as cheap as possible. Emmett cuts almost everything- leaving six days in London and Paris. When Martha finds out, it leads to a fight that calls off the trip entirely. Millie and Alice think Sam should talk with Emmett and find a way to resolve their problems. Emmett and Martha sit down to compromise, but it leads to another fight. Can a resolution be reached to satisfy both?

Similar to Clark's Washington D.C. trip episode.

Paul Hartman as Emmett Clark is highlighted. The Emmett is cheap premise opens the floodgates for very good humor. Seeing Emmett seething at suggestions of trip upgrades then cutting back was hilarious.

Usually bland Mary Lansing as Martha was at her best conniving Emmett by every trick in the book to go to Europe. All the supporting cast was funny putting in their two cents. Everyone had a take on Europe.

Classic boring Sam Jones (Ken Berry) being the ultimate sounding board. Concerned with everyone's problems. Only more than happy listening over and over again.with his signature comforting cliches that everything will be okay.
