A Little Weak.

Warning: Spoilers
I think the guy, that reporter, who worked with Ben, was kind of boring and uncharismatic. Since he had so much screen time, I think that is what made this episode kind of weak among other things.

How do you have Dennis Franz on and not give him a juicy role? Granted NYPD Blues hadn't started yet, but I believe he was known as a pretty good actor before that from Hill Street Blues and more.

The courtroom scenes at the end when Ben questions the person he knows is the killer was a little weak. I mean he is usually allowed to conjecture a lot in the show overall, but here it was really noticeably excessive. The Joseph Chan murder seemed forgotten about and there was no follow-up with the reporter who was wanted for questioning.

Missing for me, was more screentime for Michelle and Tyler. The reporter got more. No fun banter and expressions between Ben and the gang. No fun side antics/stories with the characters. You know that thing that has nothing to do with the case but is a fun ongoing side theme in the episode. They have that in many other episodes, but not this one. Anyway, it was an ok 2-parter episode. 6/10.
