Delicate subject matter but another decent episode

It's always a delicate topic for escapist television, so I was surprised that "Magnum P.I." had an IRA-themed in an early Season 1 episode. ("Miami Vice" kicked off the third season with an equally controversial episode.)

The British SAS are represented by an unlikeable bunch of characters to bring some balance to the proceedings.

The beautiful Robin Dearden plays the delightful flight attendant, Mandy, who takes a shine to Magnum.

Good but not great.

7 out of 10.

Well back in the day during the troubles!

Warning: Spoilers
Back when the I R A made the news is a Magnum episode. Higgins has a British officer protected at Robin's nest during an I R A trial. There is some James Bond spy espionage. Plot twists, and Magnum running around and a memorable ending. Magnum hates the madness in a well acted and directed episode. 7 stars.

Breaking Bad

Warning: Spoilers
Robin Dearden plays Mandy, the Flight Attendant, who is also an IRA operative. In fact Robin has been married to Bryan Cranston since 1989. Anyway, this is quite a political episode that certainly wears its sympathies on its sleeve. Interestingly, we don't see references to Sinn Fein, which is the political wing of the I. R. A., but anyway maybe that would have gone over the heads of the viewers, Also I'm surprised the writers didn't consider the racial aspect, considering there was a reference to the Irish race, and one wonders how one distinguishes between English/Welsh/Scottish and Irish, and even then the Northern Irish as opposed to the Republic of Ireland Irish.

I'm enjoying watching the early episodes of Magnum, especially with its CHiPs style theme song.
