After last episode's shouting festival, and the Lovesick conclusion to the Joanna Lumley story arc before that, this straight-ahead murder mystery was a nice adrenaline shot.
Mary - a judge's wife and a friend of Jane's - is having an affair. Turns out the guy was an ex-con. And now he's dead. Mary is the prime suspect. She's worried this will k3ll her husband's career. Corrupt police offer to keep her out of it if she pays them hush money. So she needs to sell some silver. Enter Lovejoy.
B plot involves a brash, rich Aussie who has hired Lovejoy to find him a really big deal to take him to the wife in Sydney.
