Despite being told to fire at 25°45' (25.75°) N by 80°16' (80.2667°) W, Stan seems to have trouble keeping track of the numbers and tells the Lexx to fire at 28°45' (28.75°) N by 81°.15' (81.0025°) W instead and unsurprisingly misses the intended target. Also, the intended target was claimed to be off the South Beach shore of Miami, FL, though it is actually in Miami more than a mile inland. Lastly, the actual target was not Orlando, FL but Lake Harney Woods, over 20 miles northeast of downtown Orlando.
There are four locations highlighted on the map the President points to: MACLEAN, VIRGINIA (fictitious, though McLean is a community in Fairfax, Virginia); EGYPT, VERMONT (fictitious); SHAG HARBOUR, NOVA SCOTIA (a small fishing community famous for a 1967 UFO sighting); and DILDO BAY, NEWFOUNDLAND (fictitious, though White Bay, the actual name of the bay that is highlighted, bears a passing resemblance).
Prince opens a plastic replica of a football for the President to authorize nuclear launch codes. In real life, "The Football" is code for a briefcase that accompanies the President of the United States and contains the Gold Codes, which are the launch codes for nuclear weapons. Contrary to popular belief, the Football does not actually contain a big red button for launching a nuclear war. Its primary purpose is to confirm the President's identity, and it allows him or her to communicate with the National Military Command Center in the Pentagon, which monitors worldwide nuclear threats and can order an instant response. To launch an attack, the President would need to confirm his/her identity using a code printed on a plastic card (nicknamed "The Biscuit"), which the President is supposed to always have in his/her possession.
