Eddie parks the Rutherfords' car in a private parking lot. When the illegally parked vehicle is later spotted, the license plate the man writes down is "WJG 865," which is the same as the Cleavers' plate shown in the opening credits.
While Kim Hamilton's portrayal of the maid is the only time an African-American appears in the credits for the series, a cameo of a black man exiting a dairy truck in Eddie, the Businessman (1962), from earlier in the season, gets credit for being the first appearance of an African-American person on the show.
The role of Lumpy Rutherford's mother, Gwen, played here by Margaret Stewart, was first played by young actor Majel Barrett in Beaver and Violet (1960). That was several years before her debut as Nurse Chapel, and the computer voice of the Starship Enterprise in the popular sci-fi TV series, Star Trek (1966), and subsequent productions in the franchise.
When Beaver jokes about how they're getting paid, Eddie asks whether Beaver is Dickens or Fenster. I'm Dickens, He's Fenster (1962) was a TV show that aired 32 episodes on Fridays after The Flintstones (1960).
