An Indian restaurant owned by a practicing Hindu would be highly unlikely to serve beef curry.
Kolchak correctly cites the fact that the swastika is an Indian character used to ward off evil, but the Indian swastika points to the left. The Nazi swastika - or, hakenkruis as the Germans called it - is reversed it so that it points to the right. Many of the swastikas in back of the Indian restaurant are the Nazi one.
The only "heights" in Chicago is the area known as Beverly Hills/Mt. Greenwood in the southern part of the city.
At the time of the series it was an exclusive area and had relatively little crime. It certainly wasn't poverty stricken or rundown as was shown in the episode.
It's never explained why a monster from Hindu legend would be stalking a Jewish neighborhood in Chicago. The old man stated that the Rakshasa were cowardly and preyed upon easy targets. A neighborhood full of elderly people would certainly be a desirable hunting ground.
In two separate scenes, Kolchack is seen following the same red Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Just after Harry Starman points out the Indian restaurant to Kolchak, Starman pushes off from a park bench which visibly moves, revealing it to be a prop.
