- Barto wakes up at 5.36 AM, to find Jill climbing back in trough the window, proclaiming a glorious day ahead; Jack receives him wearing a beauty mask. Barto's professor tells him he'll be lucky to succeed his father as obstetrician rather then becoming a thorax-specialist as he hopes, given his falling grades, and advises him to dump whichever girl he's seeing as naked as his practice cadaver, once graduated he can get women regardless of his physique. Barto studies till he screams at his skeleton, but still feels he'll fail; Jill tells him just to talk things trough with unappreciative Audrey. Jack and Eliza are impressed by their hunky, well-reputed new colleague, action reporter Matt Prophet; Jack's offer to do research for him is instantly accepted: everything about music boot legs, but when she presents him the facts, Matt says that's just a foundation, they must go deeper, digging for the why from a personal angle too; when she brings him an actual address, he tells her they go immediately and films but is physically threatened by the sweatshop-owner and Jack surprises pleasantly by surrendering the tape, but telling Matt outside she secretly switched it with a blank spare. Director Travis Cutler barks at Audrey to over-compensate their romantic liaison. Mikey accepts Eliza's invitation, meant for Barto, to a seminar for singles; it's crap for silly chicks, Mikey's prosaic insights hit some raw nerves, but in the end Eliza stands up for his brutal honesty, both there and in life. Barto cuts class to burst in at Audrey's rehearsal, imploring her to dump the pretentious director, but she tells him off. Jill meticulously prepares his night out at a small Italian restaurant, even has is fortune told by a card-reader but is stood up, and tells Jack he gets that it was never to be; then Eliza confesses to regret she made Jack promise to ignore her feelings for him; running to her, Jill finds her kissing Matt, who just apologized for his impulsive kiss after the tape-switch...—KGF Vissers
