A useful episode regarding the Chegwidden back-story
hindsonevansmike3 July 2019
After yesterday's travesty of "Trinity", CBS historical channels served up this episode from 1997. The back-story of Admiral Chegwidden is explored, utilising Webb from the CIA and delving into the murky world of CIA operations in Vietnam during "the war".

Sadly, the Admiral's girlfriend becomes a victim, Chegwidden decides on an honourable and ethical means to bring down the perpetrator and Mac gets to make eyes at a lab technician as she tracks down some physical evidence.

Harm gets to try out the Admiral's chair! Oh, and Bud proves that he wasn't just kidding around!

Back to normal standards after "Trinity".

"Ghosts"

Warning: Spoilers
In "Ghosts", we have a very intriguing and sad episode focusing on Admiral Chegwidden when he was a SEAL lieutenant in Vietnam. Tragic events that take place throughout the episode are a nice way to show a softer side to the hard-nosed irascible admiral, who generally spends his time growling at Harm and Mac and co. Right to the end, I wasn't quite sure where the threat to Chegwidden was coming from, so kudos for the writers for keeping us - or, at least, me - guessing. Steven Culp has another maxi-cameo as CIA agent Clayton Webb, and Boris Yeltsin features as well! John M. Jackson does a great job displaying the admiral's grief - very believable.
