Jonathan Taylor Thomas is the only regular cast member not to appear in the finale (aside from Pamela Anderson, who left the series after season 2).
In a surprisingly prophetic scene, as Tool Time is concluding its run, Tim refers to Al Borland as Al-be-doing-infomercials-for-a-living-Borland. Last show of the series.
The program ended its eight-season ABC network run with a 90-minute finale comprised of the two half-hour shows, "The Long and Winding Road: Part 2" and The Long and Winding Road: Part 3," followed by a 30-minute "clip" show of bloopers, outtakes, and scenes from the last taping, broadcast consecutively on the same night.
The song performed in "Tool Time"'s supposed last episode is "Burning Down The House", originally recorded by the New Wave band "Talking Heads".
