Coverdale Hall Retirement Home may seem highly respectable and proper on the surface, but German resident Hansi is being cruelly tormented by someone.
It's somewhat odd to watch a British drama nowadays that has an anti German plot, when I was young they were more common place, this dates back to 1998, and there would be a generation or three that would remember the second world war well.
Blurred lines between Germans and Nazis in this wonderful episode of Hetty Wainthropp. She's been undercover before, but this is an altogether more serious affair, Routledge is at her best, and the writing terrific.
The acting is terrific, Richard Pasco, Sara Stewart and Jean Anderson all brilliant.
My favourite episode of the show, it's deep, clever, and has some wonderfully rich characters. 10/10
