The music played when Filer is carrying out his schemes while disguised was used in the 1963 movie "The List of Adrian Messenger" when Kirk Douglas was carrying out his schemes wearing disguises.
Voice-over veteran Paul Frees dubbed Goro Shibata's character.
Early in the episode, Filer makes reference to McGarrett about the cocaine coming in at Kaena Point. Kaena Point is the westernmost tip of land on the island of Oahu. The point can be reached on foot from both the East via Oahu's North Shore / Mokulea, and Southwest via Waianae Coast. An unimproved track extends some 3 miles along the coast from the end of the paved road on the east side, where a gate prevents entry of all except authorized vehicles. On the southeast side, at Kaena State Park, a paved road passes a beach before terminating into an unpaved road. Filer also mentions Route 93, which is the road that leads to Kaena Point from the Waianae side.
Three of the "many faces" of Filer seen in the show's promo are from the season three show "Over Fifty? Steal", and are not seen as his disguises this show.
