Nice way to finish off

Warning: Spoilers
THE HAZARD OF THE DIE is the final episode of the first series of HANNAY and offers a nice little closure. Things begin on familiar ground, with Hannay saving the life of a young suicidal woman, before we move into a gambling plot spearheaded by Gavin Richards as the Moriarty of the show. Some good performances from familiar actors like Leonie Mellinger, Michael Sheard and Edward de Souza keep this entertaining throughout, and the period detail is as spot on as ever.

Count Von Schwabing
Prismark1018 October 2020
Hannay saves a young woman who jumps into a river from a bridge.

Gambling debts and an indiscretion has led to her mind being in disarray.

Lady Veronica Strickland is the younger wife of Sir Greville Strickland. He is someone very high up in the foreign office and he is trying to bring the Italian government into an alliance with Britain.

Hannay sees that Lady Victoria is being troubled by Count Von Schwabing, who is pretending to be Swiss.

Meanwhile Hannay's old friend Reggie Armitage is trying to procure a deadly machine gun.

The return of German Count Von Schwabing leads to a neat wrap up of the first series. This is another episode with some mild intrigue but little action.

This is not the exciting adventures of Hannay that I thought it would be.
