The last episode of season 17 is one that involves young love in the late 1800's that plays out well. What really stands out in the episode is the acting of the guest cast. With a charming story and a believable cast, this episode is one that will be remembered.
It begins as two young people Donna Clayton (Melissa Newman) and Cory Soames (Sam Elliott) are in front of a preacher ready for marriage. All of the sudden the door flies open and enter Donna's father Walt Clayton (Morgan Woodward) putting an end to the ceremony and taken the boy off to the sheriff for stealing a horse. He also drags his daughter back to the farm advising that Cory was not good for her.
This is the plot of the story and has been played out very many times in very many series over time. But what this show has working is the cast of actors in the show.
Morgan Woodward is excellent as the autocratic father that want to handpick his daughter's actions in everything that she does in life. Melissa Newman was an excellent cast as the daughter in love trying to do everything she can to make her father see that he is pushing her away. Sam Elliott is great as the young boy in love with the tyrannical father's daughter that just wants to be accepted.
As the father tries to pit her daughter against the young man, it could prove costly. He just may lose everything that he loves.
A good show that is entertaining from beginning to end. Marshal Dillon takes control of this show to bring justice to a town run by one man. A good Watch!
