It's funny, when you watch comedies from yesteryear, particularly from this era, they tend to follow a pattern, a formula. Each comedy seemed to have a night time, horror story themed episode, and here is the one from Grace and Favour.
Early on, the focus is on the staff finding their feet at the hotel, getting into their respective ranks, the second half sees the effects of a country storm on everyone.
I enjoyed it, even if it does go a little silly at times. I haven't fallen in love with Miss Lovelock, but she serves a purpose, she's almost like the New Captain Peacock, a figure who believes they're just a cut above everyone else. I am however loving Mavis, again it's her scenes with Mr Humphries that get the laughs.
Sweet, cosy comedy. 7/10.
