- Alan makes an announcement on his show that he is conducting his annual child talent search, he encouraging parents to make submissions of their talented children. This process causes a problem for Rob, Buddy and Sally as all their friends, neighbors, and acquaintances - as well or as little they know each of the three - want to circumvent the process by Rob, Buddy or Sally holding private auditions for their children, who they believe the most talented in the world. Rob and Laura try to impress on everyone who asks that it better for them to go through the proper channels, but everyone can't help but have their child audition directly for Rob anyway. Rob and Laura hit the breaking point when a new neighbor, a Mr. Mathias, who they have not even yet met, seems to be using Ritchie as a means for getting his children auditions with Rob. Rob and Laura's relationship with Mr. Mathias and his family have a few bumps in the road in what Rob and Laura hope is a neighborhood with smoothly paved streets.—Huggo
