- TriviaWalker's line "You serve them on toast, very tasty, very sweet" refers to two wartime radio stars, the double act Nan Kenway and Douglas Young. Their act consisted mostly of references to food, and their catchphrase was "Very tasty, very sweet".
- GoofsAt the opening to the Pike residence dinner table, Mrs. Pike admonishes Frank for taking too much of the single pat of butter. She reminds him that it is his week's ration, indicating that the rest of the pat of butter is to be saved. Later on, as Mrs Pike is clearing the table, the need to save the butter is forgotten. She even places the sugar bowl on top of the butter right before she carries the tray of dirty dishes away.

Sgt. Wilson's Little Secret
I always assumed Captain Mainwaring knew about the precise relationship between Sergeant Wilson and Mavis Pike.
It seems he does not and he Mainwaring is also irritated that Mrs Pike always interferes with platoon business by coming in and complaining about how her son is treated. Mainwaring wants Wilson to have a word with her.
However Wilson is alarmed when he overhears her saying something about a little one coming to the house. Wilson thinks he has made her pregnant when all she is thinking about is taking in a wartime evacuee.
The episode is really about mistaken assumptions with Mainwaring ordering Wilson to do the decent thinks and marry Mavis Pike.
It was not a strong episode but still amusing enough with several laughs.
