Watch Kids Close, watch some parents closer
radarfirs717 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Starts kind of Slow. The usual idea of thinking a Killer is back. I kind of know what this little girl went thru. I had the problem she had since ~2nd grade with bullies. By HS I was able to talk the Bullies to get into the Locker instead of Me. I would have scored this episode much higher if they at least shown the Parents getting Handcuffed. The Actor who plays the Older Brother, and later the Psych problem kid. I cant remember the other TV Show where he played a Similar Character where they figured out he was faking it. I was trying to remember that show, which also made me think his character would do the same. Glad to see the 2 siblings get to be close again, and kind of see their Parents find themselves about to have a talking to by the Detective, I can almost here that detective say "You Two have some Answering to do".

Moving

Despite its blatant agenda, this show also had a heart, especially when dealing with weak and defenceless victims and none was more innocent, lovable and defenceless than Rita the sweet bespectacled girl, mercilessly bullied by a trio of creepy classmates.

The story unfolds in such a way as to pull the rug from under the audience's feet. Everything points to Brandi as the doer of the nasty deed, the blondest, coldest and meanest girl, but she has a sad secret of her own, although not quite enough to make me fell sorry for her. My heart went to Rita the girl on the pink bike and her dreams of growing up to be a lovable outsider.

Nod to get a life

A sequence of the girl riding her bike at the beginning has the rem song stand playing. If you ever saw the show. Get a life. Starring chris elliot. The opening is the same sequence, same song. No way its a coincidence. Must be a nod, to soneone, or someone that worked both shows.

Quite a potent episode

I only watched this episode once, on its original air date in 2004. I have never been so emotionally impacted by a piece of fiction before or since. That little girl just wanted to have friends. I was and still am very heartbroken from viewing such a compelling piece of drama. interesting to find out who directed this gem.

Sad Horrible Story of Kids Hurting Kids
Johnny_West10 November 2021
The girl who plays the victim has to be one of the sweetest and most innocent looking kids I have ever seen on a TV show. I thought she would turn out to be a famous star by now, but she has not done any acting since 2014. She looks so honestly naive and vulnerable when she is trying to make friends with the mean kids, that it is heart-breaking.

The story itself is just beyond creepy and vile. It is very well written, and there are several characters that seem to be the killer for various disturbing reasons. This episode keeps you guessing until the end, but you wish everyone could have been arrested and sent to prison.
