With the Angels and Bosley still in Hawaii, the agency is hired by Marion Moss, whose husband, Steve Moss, owner of his own lucrative cabaret, Steve's Tropical Paradise, has been kidnapped. Marion has come to the agency instead of the police as the ransom note, which requests $1 million for his return, says there would be severe consequences if Marion calls the police. Marion says that she would pay the ransom if she could, but doesn't have that kind of money. With that statement, Marion goes to the top of the suspect list as those in the business know that Steve should have that kind of money from the club. If Marion is not behind the kidnapping, the Angels and Bosley have to figure out why there is a discrepancy between the money that Marion has and the money that Steve purportedly takes in from the club. The Angels are Bosley are under the gun as the kidnapper(s) has also stated that he/she/they would take action every twenty-four hours the money is not paid. Other suspects include Steve's dance captain, Stacy Parrish, who admits that there is no love lost in her toward Steve, or the plethora of dancers either currently in the show or that have been let go by hard-nosed Steve, the latest being Donna Smith who was fired the night Steve was kidnapped and who apparently went hysterical that evening. The Angels and Bosley figure the best way to find out everything they need is to infiltrate the show, with Kris and Julie auditioning as dancers.
