As an expert in insurance murders, Robin is propositioned by a mysterious, but distinguished, gentleman named Graves to kill James Clayton. The job requires an expert because Clayton has turned his country estate into an impenetrable fortress. Clayton turns out to be Mr. Graves himself. Clayton In hopes of determining which of the dead man's three partners is the guilty one, Robin breaks into the company offices and from the tax returns discovers Fallberg is the only one in desperate financial trouble. Robin confronts Fallberg with this evidence only to be stunned by a perfect alibi. Robin suggests it was Lily and arouses Fallberg's suspicions. In a rage over her unfaithfulness, Fallberg kills his wife so that neither collect on the insurance policy.
