David Janssen, a guest star of this episode previously starred in The Fugitive (1963). William Conrad, who plays the title character, was the narrator on that series. Both were a Quinn Martin production.
Originally two hours, it was split into two one-hour episodes for syndication.
The car the murders take place in is a Ferrari 365 GTS/4, more commonly known as a Daytona Spyder. Because of it's low production numbers, the rare Spyder (i.e., convertible) version of the 365, if in excellent condition, can easily sell for $1,000,000 now.
Barry Sullivan and a slimmed down William Conrad had appeared together as police officers investigating murder in the 1949 Noir film "Tension".
In addition to reuniting William Conrad (narrator) and David Janssen (star) from Quinn Martin's blockbuster series The Fugitive, at least nine more stars in this one episode appeared in the blockbuster series: Dabs Greer (6 appearances), Tim O'Connor (3), R.G. Armstrong (3), Bill Quinn (3), Murray Hamilton (2), Virginia Gregg, Robert Hogan, Martine Bartlett and Royal Dano (one each). (Although Quinn Martin's Cannon ran longer than The Fugitive, the series finale broke Nielsen (viewer) records that stood for 13 years, until the 1980 Super Bowl.)
