Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Mac traps the mosquito under the jar, he describes it as being "fat and well fed", yet the close-up view of the insect shows that it is not, in fact, engorged and, therefore, not fed. moreQuotes:
[Hawkes explains something about brains out of the head being fried]Detective Stella Bonasera: I knew this would be a no-brainer for you.
Dr. Sheldon Hawkes: She didn't just say that.
Detective Don Flack, Detective Mac Taylor: She did.

Group leader "Mac" (Gary Sinise) works with agent Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper), who has been promoted to field work, having been in the lab last year. They have the main story: a professional building climber who is scaling the Empire State Building when he mysteriously falls to his death. The key "witness" to the murder is a mosquito!
"Stella" (Melina Kanakaredes) and "Danny" (Carmine Giovinazzo) are trying to solve what happened to a missing $8 million jewel that was part of a jeweled bra being worn by a jewelry executive. Also to be found is the person who killed that guy (he was wearing it to safeguard it, not for kinky reasons).
Finally, in a small sideline story, but one that will have repercussions regarding this show's cast, "Det. Aiden Burn" (Vanessa Ferlito) is trying to help a friend pin a case on a two-time rapist. The show ends with her tampering with the case and, I presume, will conclude with her being fired on the next episode. This was no surprise as I knew that Ferlito wanted off the show, so this was the way to do it, I guess. Too bad, because I will miss seeing that beautiful face.
All in all, an excellent start to the second season. The improved 5.1 sound on the DVD was very noticeable the show seems a bit brighter this season.
