Factual errors: In seeking information on a vehicle sales decal whose VIN number was seared onto the window from an RPG blast, Eric Delko mentions that VIN numbers have 16 characters on them, which is wrong. Since 1981, all vehicles sold in the United States and Canada are required to have VIN numbers that are 17 characters in length - no more, no less. Prior to 1981, manufacturers were free to use as many characters as they saw fit. His other information on the number 1 meaning US built, and the F meaning Ford, was correct. moreFAQ
