A boy at a local school has severely assaulted one of his classmates. After questioning at the station, the boy is cautioned and sent home. The next morning, the police are called to a tragic case of domestic violence.
The Heelers are initially called to a school disturbance between two boys. The instigator, Sam Roper, is cautioned and sent home with his parents Colin and Jane Roper. But later an incident at the Roper household leads the Heelers to believe that Jane is a victim of domestic abuse. Rose's objectivity to the case is tested in light of her ex-husband Jeff also working at Mt. Thomas. The next day Colin Roper is found dead and it later transpires that he was the victim and not Jane. The revelation leads Rose into confessing that Jeff is still abusing her.—Anonymous
