So, frankly, I've never seen any episodes of "The Beverly Hillbillies". This was my very first time, and I can already say I'm a fan. This episode did wonders for introducing lovable characters to someone who hasn't seen the show before.
I had heard of the show's general premise, and I was curious to see why my childhood best friend and my fiancé were both always raving about. I can say that this episode SURELY delivered on all of my expectations for what they said would come. Very enjoyable. I definitely want more, without question.
For starters, the theme song is catchy, even if I don't know the words . . . YET.
The elderly woman (I'm still new, so it's hard for me to remember names quite yet) was very funny, and the daughter was-my Lord!-a very sexy woman. Jethro (I believe is his name-the son, or whatever he is) is such a slow-thinking character, and a moment involving him and the turkey really cracked me up. The father (Jed, I think they called him) also was enjoyable and silly, referring to a rhino as a billiard, due to his confusion over what a billiard room is.
How can a show take a freaking TURKEY, of all things, and make it seem friendly and cute?! I don't even LIKE live turkeys! I've never thought they were cute, but Herman is!
The show is so silly and fun, and some of the jokes that could be more offensive in this retarded SJW era we live in were shockingly funny to me, since I don't see much of that humor in any of my typical intake for film or television.
I must say I'm very impressed. I'm so happy my fiancé picked this to watch, tonight.
Definitely check this special (and this show) out, if you haven't seen it before, either. That's from one newbie to another.
