Fourth season opener
kevinolzak17 April 2014
"Goodbye Mr. Fish" began the fourth season, the retiring Fish conspicuously absent, focusing on a vigilante campaign started by local entrepreneur Bruno Bender (Stanley Brock). Complications set in after two storeowners get into an impromptu shootout that leaves the robber dead. This was Jack Somack's third appearance as liquor store owner Cotterman (3 more episodes), while Arny Freeman makes his second and last as Mr. Rosten, previously seen in "Power Failure" (this was the third of the actor's six overall appearances). In his third episode, Stanley Brock here debuted as Bruno Bender, repeating this role six more times (Gregory V. Karliss makes his first of two episodes). Steve Landesberg's Dietrich (11th appearance) and Ron Carey's Levitt (8th appearance) would now be featured for the remainder of the show's run, while this fourth season would be the only one including James Gregory's Inspector Frank Luger during the opening credits (his 16th appearance).
