An important gangster, a sort of VIP in the underworld, is "nearly accidentally" killed by the lover of his girl friend, a sort of young punk played by the new comer Scott Glenn, in one of his earliest performances. The young woman is on probation and Baretta is fond of her and wants to protect her, because of this murder of which she could be accused of. But the hoodlum Glenn stole a book from the mob leader, and wants to trade it against the big dol. Don't expect something astonishing in this episode. The usual Baretta series charm, not more. Elisha Cook is also in the run, and it's always fun to see him around. I don't know the director.
