Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?

Naturally the staff are unhappy when a striking sales girl lands in the middle of the shop floor selling scent. Joanna Lumley made several appearances in Are you being served? This was definitely her best. She caused quite a stir, her voice is used to great effect.

It's a very funny episode all round, with lots of original humour, It features a painfully funny spat between Mr Grainger and Mrs Slocombe, with talk of removing underwear and putting perfume there. Inman's look to the camera during the advert is side splitting.

The way the team take down Lumley is very funny indeed.

It's another great episode from a superb first series. 9/10

His and Her's

The new work day starts off with the staff of Grace Brothers making fun of Captain Peacock, he is late in signing in.

He has been told by Mr Rumbold that there will be a new stand in the men's department. Miss French (Joanna Lumley) will run a perfume counter something that upsets Mr Grainger. His central display stand has been taken away.

When Miss French arrives at the store most of the men are smitten. The women are jealous. Captain Peacock makes a move but he is soon rebuffed.

Miss French is not afraid to use her sassiness to drive up sales. She makes recorded messages to attract custom. When she gives out free ties and stocking the rest of the staff take desperate action to get rid off her.

Joanna Lumley used to be married to co-writer Jeremy Lloyd. She certainly adds sex appeal.
