When Andy looks up the name of the owner of the organ he looks in a "Mount Airy" phone book. "Mount Airy" is the birthplace of Andy Griffith and said to be the inspiration behind the city of "Mayberry." This is a common misconception. In actuality, Andy Griffith based Mayberry on Pilot Mountain, North Carolina and Mount Pilot is based on Mount Airy, North Carolina. Both towns are in Surry County, North Carolina. With Pilot Mountain being a very small town (approximately 1,600 people) and Mount Airy being a much larger town (approximately 10,200 people).

This is the first time that the character of "Clara Edwards" appears in the show's credits, But it is not the first time that actress Hope Summers appeared on the show as Aunt Bee's friend Clara. For her first 14 appearances, the character was listed in the credits as "Clara Johnson" (or occasionally as "Bertha Edwards," and even "Mrs. Bedlow" in 'Banjo-Playing Deputy.' Even though Andy calls her "Mrs. Edwards" in that episode) Apparently, the writers didn't settle on a permanent name for "Clara Edwards" until this episode, which aired five years into the shows run. But from this episode on, for her remaining 18 appearances, her name was always "Clara Edwards." This isn't the first episode she is called "Clara Edwards," she was called "Clara Edwards" in previous episodes, but this is the first episode she is credited as "Clara Edwards."
