Good Example
Hitchcoc10 January 2020
Opie, with Andy's help, is hired at the drugstore. He runs the soda fountain and soon establishes himself as a good worker and a dependable kid. He withstands some real pressures. Unfortunately, one day he breaks a bottle and rather than fess up, he replaces some expensive perfume. I remember those jobs where I couldn't sleep at night because I had screwed up while my peers couldn't care less. It's a tough way to get your feet wet.

Helen favorite perfume is approximately $550.

Andy says Helen's favorite perfume is $64.00.

She's a school teacher and with today's conversion rate that would be about $550. A bottle. Seems a little unrealistic that she could afford that!!

Very weak episode

Not a lot of good here. No laughs. Some unique situations probably the highlights. Generic cardboard cutout actor Jim Begg buying and drinking a glass of water is the only thing remotely humorous. What happened to Elmo (Vince Barnett) working in the drugstore? Goober and Howard are of course concerned with Opie's job that they'd abandon their jobs to visit Andy to talk about it. Why would a town sheriff constantly be going over statistical reports with the county clerk? Two men going to Mount Pilot to hang around? Opie uses his bare hands (no gloves) to make sundaes and sandwiches? Isn't there health dept protocol? Were labor laws being followed Opie working so young? Helen is an expensive girlfriend. The colored water perfume substitute left no sample for customers. Then why didn't Opie notice no smell from the broken perfume bottle. I'd rather write about funny scenes than inconsistencies. But there weren't any. Lame epilogue that laid an egg.
