So far it's a very good year for the show. You still have the silly preachiness, but the main characters are given far more interesting storylines than previously. It also has genuinely funny moments. This episode, just like « Life is too beautiful » had a lot of those. Julie giving birth to her daughter Erica, and the parts leading to it were the highlights of it. The Ruthie plot was fun, and Lucy's bad date, showing her the kind of sexist behavior she expects from guys. Gave her a good lesson. She was right telling that guy off, though. Matt's acting, was too over the top and cartoonist, but him trying to help Eric get Hank back, had its moments. Apart from the mentioning of Wilson, in her conversation with Simon's girlfriend, whom I can't really stand. I didn't care much about Mary and Simon's storylines...
