• Continuity: In the unclaimed luggage warehouse, Charlie is seen holding a tape player with his left hand. On a following shot, the tape player is gone.
  
  
• Factual errors: Charlie zips himself up in the red suitcase without putting his hand outside of it. This is impossible since there is no suitcase built to zip up from the inside.
  
  
• Continuity: When Charley is dancing in the unclaimed luggage warehouse the floor around him is completely clean with all the luggage to the sides, however then in the shot with all of the kids dancing things are spread all around the floor.
  
  

• Errors in geography: The brother and sister are flying from California to Pennsylvania on AirTran. However the movie is filmed at Salt Lake City airport which AirTran does not serve. Also the father drives from PA to SLC in one day which is impossible.
  
  
• Continuity: Spencer lays the doll next to his sister, but when it cuts back to him you can see her in the background with her arm around it. You then see her pull it into this position from by her side.
  
  
• Continuity: After the fire department extinguishes the car fire at the gas station the car's parking lights are on. It is very unlikely the parking lights would still be working after the car exploded. In the very next scene the car's parking lights are off.
  
  
• Continuity: When Sam (Spencer and Katherine's dad) backs away from his car before it explodes, he is sill fairly close to it. Yet when it actually explodes, he is much farther away.
  
  
• Continuity: When Sam's car explodes, the tree is no longer visible through the windshield.
  
  
• Continuity: When Spencer hangs up the phone at the airport, then it goes to his mom, the woman sitting next to Spencer's mom pushes her headband up. in the next part, it is back down again.
  
  
• Continuity: When Katherine escapes from Mary Lynn, she still has makeup on and her hair is in braids, but when she is found sleeping on the sofa in the lobby, she has no makeup on and her hair is unbraided and looks as though it was never touched.
