The movie inspired me
carmelprincess7426 January 2007
I was inspired to write my own screen play after viewing this movie. It couldn't be as bad as this one. A single 40 year old living with her parents and searching for men on the internet is not encouraging. One sister was a virgin the other one was totally opposite! If she didn't want men to touch her why were all her outfits tight and revealing? Why on earth would you want a married drug dealer after waiting your whole life for the man of your dreams? The acting was horrible! Almost every acted as if they had just seen the script for the first time. I did enjoy the singing. But it wasn't enough to make me forget about the rest of the movie. I will keep the DVD to watch on those rainy days when I need a good laugh.

Not Christian Inspiration
smithla-9648815 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This was awful considering it was bundled with "Christian Inspiration" videos. The main character is a 40 year old "good Christian girl" virgin who despite reading the Bible every night, can only be miserable because all she wants out of life is a "good Christian man". Apparently being a devoted Christian single also includes being in a dead end job you hate, so you can afford to continue living with your parents. She follows the advice of her parents to "trust God" by scouring dating websites. She finds her true love interest in a controlling, wealthy businessman who turns out to be a married drug dealer. His alcoholic wife, who he abuses, neglects their daughter and doesn't feed her while her husband is away, but apparently is okay to be with her while the husband continues to go on many dates and court the new woman. Despite him practically assaulting her for rejecting his sexual advances, she waits by the phone like a dad school girl while all her friends and family encourage her to wait for him to come around. The happy ending is just a continuation of the train wreck that is this movie. And it's all wrapped up in over the top comedy that misses the mark of trying to be Friday, and stereotypical characters. If you're feeling down about being a single Christian, I encourage you to seek inspiration elsewhere. Pureflix has many wonderful, feel good Christian romance flicks.

Could've been worse but could've been a LOT better...
dawb-408973 March 2024
This one isn't subtle at all. It's simple and straightforward; a movie on the simple Christian value of celibacy before marriage. Unfortunately, the writer should've made more of an effort to show the benefits of said lifestyle which few films of this kind ever do. The characters have little to no depth, with the main character seeming to be concerned with getting married and nothing else. This makes it hard to relate to her and in essence the stakes of her love life aren't quite as interesting or concerning for us as viewers. The performances leave much to be desired but isn't the worst you'll ever see in the subgenre. From the visual standpoint, the film looks just as one would assume a lower budget, independent film from the early 2000s would look like. The music is generic sounding and dull, which always surprises me when it comes to films with musical acts involved and their character's are based on. The off-camera sound editing isn't always crisp which can be a slight distraction. I will give the director a decent grade as the film does run with the right kind of pacing to not make it a laborious watch. Though neither the comedic, dramatic or romantic elements worked too well it's lightly entertaining enough to not be upset for giving it a watch.

Don't touch this movie .... If you have Prayed for better movies about Christian Experience
vontina6930 November 2006
I was really looking forward to seeing an inspirational film about a woman's struggle to keep standing against secular lifestyle. Instead, I was very disappointed to find that the main character is a complete Bubble head that appears to be miserable in her Christian life and goes on internet chat lines to find her 'soulmate'. When she finds her so-called "enchanted love" which unknown to her, is a married drug dealer. I found myself actually laughing at the terrible acting, the pseudo Tyler Perry character(the old man none of his jokes are even remotely funny .. trust) If you buy this tape buy it at your own risk, remember you have been warned!!!

Worldly Film, a must miss film!
Nikita1038-117 February 2006
Warning: Spoilers
"Don't Touch If You Ain't Prayed" truer words haven't been spoken, that is exactly what I should have done before I picked up this movie at the video store, its 105 minutes of my life I'm not going to get back! OK where do I begin? For starters, this movie has the worst acting I've ever seen, it was painful to watch, the message of the movie was horrible as well, the title of the movie has the word prayed in it, and the main character and everyone else in this movie did not prayed even once through out the whole film, if she would have prayed she would have found out he was married with a child, which brings me to my next topic. Adultery, her "love" interest is married and on top of that his job is drug related, I mean the bad stuff. The main character is so hard up for a man that she is willing to accept someone who has put away his wife in order to marry her, if she were a true Christian as she claims through out the movie she would keep looking for the right man. God would not allow something like this to happen to someone he loves. This movie sends mixed messages, about Christianity, which isn't the right message at all. If you see this movie in the video store, go on to the next selection, it's not worth your money.

Terrible movie, terrible acting and incredibly stupid SPOILERS, MAYBE
canadevil249 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Right off the bat, the very first few lines of the movies is the mother telling her 40 year old daughter to get up for work and that she needs to find a man to take care of her.

The next scene is a montage of the most stereotypical and offensive portrayal of men I have seen in a long time.

The entire movie is a parody, the fact that the people that made the movie actually believe that this how people act in real life scares the crap out of me.

Every single person in this movie is a terrible human being, even the protagonist is an unlikable, ignorant woman which clearly stems from bad parenting.

Also, the ages make no sense

Grandfather = 75

Mom = ?

Daughter = 40

other daughter = 17 or 18 ( she is in high school i'm assuming from the conversation at the beginning of the movie)

The mom has to be at least 60, but her dad is 75?.

Or the mom had a child when she was about 15 and than had another child when she was around 43?

I don't know, F@#% this movie.

Makes a Mockery of Christianity
jsraef19 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The story is awful because it is suppose to have a Christian theme about waiting on God for a godly husband. The writer apparently doesn't have a clue about sound Christian doctrine. The acting was bad and the characters were stereotypically horrific. I was hoping the protagonist would find another man, but she settled for a man who left his wife in order to marry her. There are no feel good moments in this terrible, awful and pitiful movie.

Some mistakes but this was an okay Christian movie
lymullen30 April 2024
The bad reviews for this movie didn't stop me from watching. As a fan of Nollywood and Lifetime movies, I don't expect perfection. This movie follows Pamela, a 40-year-old devout Christian woman who is fed up with dating because she thinks all men only want sex. She meets Jordan online, and then again while having lunch with her coworkers, one of whom happens to know Jordan.

Jordan seems perfect, but he comes with more baggage than a 747's luggage carousel and shows his true colors when Pamela reveals that she is a virgin. There were a few glaring mistakes. For instance, Pamela, who is 40, has a 75-year-old grandfather. How is that possible unless granddad was 15 when he became a father? Either that or dad was 15.

In terms of looks, Jordan and Pamela looked good together and had chemistry. The best acting came from Randy Brooks, who played Jordan. However, there were a lot of improbable moments. Jordan brings his 9-year-old daughter with him when he goes to break ties with the nefarious people he had been doing business with. There was a weird sequence of events where Jordan ghosts Pamela after he finds out she was a virgin, then he has his business associate call her to test the waters, as if she was the one who broke it off with him. It was very strange.

Also, since this is a Christian movie, Jordan should have been shown to have an epiphany that made him want to change his ways. Additionally, I find it hard to believe that Pamela's family would have encouraged her to be with Jordan after finding out all of the lying he had been doing.

I did like the end, where everyone was in church - Pamela's work friend, Jordan's alcoholic wife, and so on. It was a nice, happy ending.

Enjoyable Movie
johnnie-2557728 February 2022
Understanding this was a low budget film, I enjoyed the movie. It's unfortunate there are other women/families with this mindset of desperation for the "right man", etc to come along and they usually they end up with the wrong person. The movie was entertaining and comedic.
