This film has it's own style, which in this day and age of pastiche and plagiarism justifies the awards it has been given.
The story is quirky and clever. Bobby Baxter is an astronaut who has been travelling through space for ages and is forced to return to earth. Single, without friends or family, except for his alcoholic father, Bobby has to face the hard realities of life and a locked away secret.
It fulfilled what so many shorts are unable to do and that is to tell the whole story with it's allotted time. What I really loved was the narrative and the way the director Beryl Koltz use language to make a poignant statement without being sentimental.
Humorous and intelligent. Great little film.
