"The Insider" has learned that a controversial scene from MTV's "Jersey Shore," in which cast member Snooki is punched in the face, will not air on the show. A spokesperson for MTV released the following statement to "The Insider": "What happened to 'Snooki' was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing. After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in next week's episode. The show will still make it clear what events transpired, including the full aftermath." Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi told "The Insider" last Friday about the attack: "It's really hard for me to watch. The first time I saw it, [I] started hysterically crying. ... It came out of nowhere." Snooki went on to say,

Just as the 2010 Sundance Film Festival lineup was announced on Wednesday, brand-new stills from Kristen Stewart's indie entrant, "Welcome to the Rileys," hit the Web. The pics give us our first look at the 19-year-old's next appearance on the big screen following "New Moon."
In the film, Stewart plays a prostitute and stripper named Mallory, who enters into the lives of a married couple (James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo) who are struggling after the death of their daughter.
"Welcome to the Rileys"
One photo shows Stewart in a string bikini top, standing next to Gandolfini in what seems like some sort of seedy room, candles burning nearby and a beaded curtain hanging in the doorway. She looks

Plot: A retired widower (Robert De Niro) hits the road in hopes of reconnecting with his grown children- none of whom seem to be as happy or successful as he presumed.
Review: Everybody.S Fine is something of a comeback for star Robert De Niro. While he.s done enough brilliant work over the years to ensure his place among the legends of cinema, his recent output has been underwhelming to say the least. His last two films (What Just Happened, and Righteous Kill) were depressingly bad,

Exclusive: Robert De Niro and Kirk Jones for 'Everybody's Fine'

For his roles in such '70s and '80s classics as Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull and Goodfellas, Robert De Niro has been revered as the master of Method Acting. But of late he has been more closely associated with animated family fare (The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Shark Tale), thrillers that failed to deliver thrills (Hide and Seek and 15 Minutes) and slow plodding dramas (City by the Sea and Men of Honor). Even his recent reunion with Al Pacino in Righteous Kill failed to spark with audiences.
For much of this decade, many De Niro-led films have neither ignited the box office nor drawn critical kudos. But there have been a few notable exceptions. As Frank, the curmudgeonly soon-to-be-father-in-law in Meet the Parents, De Niro struck gold. The sequel, Meet the Fockers, raked in almost $280M in international ticket sales. And What Just Happened?

When your name showed up, you looked flabbergasted, shocked, dumbfounded.
All of the above. I had no idea that Russell had the idol. When [host Jeff Probst] said my name, I was like. “What just happened? What did I do?” I was so emotional because I was so unprepared. I didn’t even wear my favorite boots to tribal because the thought that I could go never crossed my mind.
Did you ever get them back?
No, fire ants nested in them so I left them in Samoa and after the tsunami I’m

Too Old for Action

"Surrogates" star Bruce Willis does not appear to be laying off the action roles. While on one level we completely respect that, on another we just can't help but think he should be leaving the butt-kicking to the younger guys.
Aside from the occasional low-energy part in such films as Barry Levinson's "What Just Happened," Bruce is still keeping things amped up in movies like 2007's "Live Free or Die Hard" and the upcoming "Red." How does the 54-year-old actor pull off these high-octane performances? Maybe he's using a surrogate.
Willis' new film brings to mind a whole bunch of aging stars (like Harrison Ford) who we think are simply too old for action.

Surrogates opens September 25. It looks like the robots are once again turning on humans (when will we learn?).
Bruce Willis stars in the film based on a graphic novel. He talks about the cast, the plot and doing his own stunts.
Radha Mitchell co-stars in the film and talks about her character … who’s definitely gone through some changes since the graphic novel, where this character was a man.
Here’s what Nick Allen had to say about the Surrogates trailer …
We haven’t seen the Bruce Willis we truly love for about two years. Sure, his bearded actor role in Barry Levinson’s What Just Happened? may have made us laugh, but that kind of Willis isn’t the same as the weapon-wearing one who seems to be the reason for a particular scene’s smashed car or crashing helicopter. In fact, the last time we saw anything that resembled action Bruce,

Susan Sarandon and John Goodman are set to join Al Pacino in HBO Films' "You Don't Know Jack."
The film helmed by Barry Levinson ("Toys," "What Just Happened," "Man of the Year") digs into the life of the controversial Dr. Kevorkian who aided patients of ailing health on their way to death. Loosely based on Neal Nicol and Harry Wylie's book "Between the Dying and the Dead: Dr. Jack Kevorkian's Life and the Battle to Legalize Euthanasia."
Goodman plays Nicol, a co-worker and friend of Kevorkian since 1961 and a supporter of the right to die. Sarandon plays Janet Good, an activist with the Hemlock Society who becomes one of Jack's

Yesterday came the yearly announcement from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as it extended 134 invitations to several artists and executives "who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures" read the press release. Of course all of them can decline, but I wouldn't necessarily expect that to happen as all who accept the invitation will be the only additions in 2009 to the Academy's roster of voting members.
"These filmmakers have, over the course of their careers, captured the imagination of audiences around the world," said Academy President Sid Ganis. "It's this kind of talent and creativity that make up the Academy, and I welcome each of them to our ranks."
The list follows below and reading around the best analysis I saw of it came from Nathaniel Rogers at The Film Experience who, among other things, pointed out the addition of longtime Darren Aronofsky's

We’d have to go way back to 2007 to re-familiarize ourselves – and subsequently, bask in that movie’s Bruno brilliance.
But, as both Bob Dylan and the trailer for Willis’ latest will tell us, “the times are a’changin’.” So we don’t have just any old kind of Bruce Willis in this preview for The Surrogates – we’ve got sometimes bald, sometimes blonde haired Bruce Willis. Perusing a world of semi-robotic actual secondary human beings!

This one hurt a little bit, didn't it? Lost's fifth-season finale, "The Incident," was one of the show's more morose and hopeless outings in some time. Many terrible things happened and there was just one lone puppy dog on the scene to help make things happier. (There's only so much the fuzzy fella can do!)
If you haven't watched yet, you really need to spin up that DVR and see what happened, but if you have seen tonight's episode and you're ready to discuss, grab some dog treats for Vincent and get in here...

Brazilian-born composer Marcelo Zarvos slowly but surely makes his steps in the world of film music by gathering better and bigger credits. Having parallele careers in jazz and film music, Zarvos' first commercially released score was written for the Kim Basinger / Jeff Bridges drama The Door in the Floor. Since then, he worked on the nostalgic Hollywoodland and started collaborating with Robert De Niro on The Good Shepherd and the satiric What Just Happened. Zarvos He recently completed Taking Chance (released by Varese Sarabande) and by the time you read this, Lakeshore Records has already released his score to Sin Nombre.
What was the situation of film and film music in Brazil when you grew up?
Brazil's film industry has had many ups and downs and when I was growing up there wasn't much going on. The renaissance of Brazilian film really only happened in the 1990's when I
