Dave's Opinion on The Sopranos: Road to Respect
CdnKuhner8 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
*** May Contain Spoilers ***

Took me six hours to beat this... haha. It's a waste to by it, but rent it and see what you think! I paid half price for it because I traded in some games. It's a good game if you are a die-hard Soprano's fan. In that respect, I'm glad I own it. The Soprano's was on my local cable last night. I played the game instead. It's not GREAT. But the only reason for that is you can beat it in less than ten hours. Other then that, it seems pretty real. You can get lap dances, save a porn star, play poker see Big Pussy (real nice touch)... And you don't have to drive! (Any games other then GTA and Scarface... I HATE driving!)

Latest Mafia types games:

The Godfather - 6/10 Scarface - 9/10 - WINNER The Sopranos: Road to Respect - 7.5/10 (7 on IMDb)

Both Scarface and Sopranos... The amount of thought and attention to little details and big ones in these games is amazing! You can say what you want about SRtR being short, fine I agree that it's short. But it puts The Godfather game to shame in many ways! GF was a bigger let down to me...

Suggestions:

If you like The Sopranos - Buy or Rent this game. If you really love the show though, and have the cash to spare, buy it!

What a waste

For The Sopranos fans like me who has really been looking forward for this game to come out. I think after about 10 minutes of boring game play you'll feel the same as me WHAT A WASTE. The game developers really missed their chance to make a great game out of one of the best shows ever have failed & failed is really an understatement. Even with the real actors voices the game is so boring & just repetitive its almost like you wonder if David Chase said you can use the names & characters but just make everything else nothing like the show. The missions are lame & it seems like a 4 year old made them up,& speaking of missions there isn't enough on this game to call it a game. I beat it in a little over 3 hours & I'm not a true gamer as I just don't play games that much anymore so a true gamer would probably give this game a rating of 1 or maybe no rating at all. The only reason I'm rating it a 2 is because I'm a fan of the show & I collect The Sopranos stuff. So when they quit making this game because it sucks so bad at least I'll have one. To end for people thinking this game is a GTA ripoff it's not at all in fact it would have been great if they had got went to the trouble to try to copy GTA. To sum this up the game is a waste of $40.00.

Sopranos: Road to ...BOOOORRRRIIINGGGG

Warning: Spoilers
I love the Sopranos. However i can't say the same thing about this lame excuse for a game. The concept was good, but the timing was bad. Why not make the game after the series was over, that way you could continue to play where the series ends (just like Scarface: the world is yours, Which was Awesome!!!!). That would of course mean more freedom to explore the "inner works" of the "Crew", and more interesting plots. Because this story is set between season 5 and 6, it limits how much the main character can grow and how much influence he can have.

Having said that, now it's time to say what i think about the game.

It is the "Gilgli" of games; the absolute worst game i have ever played. 1) You are limited to exploring only a few maps, usually a club or a restaurant or some 1 floor hospital ...just plain dumb 2) the controls are horrible for fighting, my fingers and forearm cramped up every 10 minutes 3)I finished the entire game in like 4-5 hours strait 4) The plot is horrible, and having horrible AI doesn't help 5) There is a lot of loading 6) I lost 5$ renting this piece of Shizznat

The only good thing about it and the reason i give it a 2 is just because you get to hear Tony and the crew chit chat, and hear Paulie's opinion on things; always funny. Other than that i would give it a 0; it is lamer than Donald Trump's combover; sheer and utter shame !!!!!

This game sucks
mattsheahan19 May 2007
It really does. I thought I was paying my dues and then the real game would begin once the character became "Made" Instead the game is just over at that point. It could have been cool had you been able to work your way up, get made, become a capo, then eventually become head of the family. Instead it is short and stupid. Really disappointing. Clearly they were just looking to cash in on the show. People are giving it credit for using the likeness and voices of actors on the show. I just lost respect for those guys for green lighting something so terrible. It is a complete waste of time and money. Even the poker feature is not any fun. I would take any version of GTA a thousand times before this piece of poop.
