Hilarious

I saw "Het Rijexamen" a couple of months ago, as a short before "Red Eye". It was completely unexpected - but absolutely hilarious.

The story's about Lana, an elderly woman who wants to finally get her driver's license. She is very nervous, and unfortunately, her drive instructor is anything but comforting. He's a complaining, cursing, vulgar man, and he has problems in his love life. Lana becomes victim of this man's behavior.

The movie is highly original, and deserves a greater audience. These shorts are the kind of movies that give us hope for the Dutch cinema.

A one-joke short--but it's a good joke!

Warning: Spoilers
A middle-aged woman is taking the driving test for the 26th time. It's obvious that she is an incompetent driver and the man doing the testing isn't particularly good, either. In fact, he's having a horrible day and spends almost all the road test arguing on the phone with his significant other--all during which, he is completely oblivious to the horrible driving the lady is doing. During the drive, she nearly runs over some bicyclists, drives up onto the sidewalk and nearly gets them killed again and again. His being completely unaware doesn't help much--especially when he gives her instructions on how and where to drive. This all culminates in a wild scene when she drives the tester to meet his lady friend.

This is a funny, though not hilarious short. A good joke--but one joke. Also, be careful about letting the kids see this--the language is pretty rough in this Dutch comedy short.
