- In this comedy series about a Goat formally known as William Buttem Whiskers, "Billy" for short, he tries various human careers. Each career seems to last only 4 minutes before something goes badly wrong, and is presented as individual short subject. Each short ends inviting you to "Watch for Billy Whiskers in his next escapade".
Escapade #1) "The Life Of A Fireman" At the firehouse, Billy is playing chess with the firemen when the fire alarm goes off. Billy joins them and saves a baby from a burning house. Escapade #2) "The Soda Water Clerk" To get girls, Billy 'hires himself' and goes behind the counter to serve soda drinks. After a seltzer fight, Billy finds himself alone behind the counter where he can enjoy all the soda he wants. Escapade #3) "In The Taxi Business" Billy jumps into the back seat of a car and fantasizes about running a Taxi Service. The startled driver jumps out of the car and Billy takes over driving, but stops when the road ends. Escapade #4) "Bad With The Police" Billy goes around the back porches of an apartment house, stealing the neighbors food. The Police are called and a round-up chase ensues. Once captured, Billy is put in the Paddy Wagon and throws the police out on the way to the station. Escapade #5) "In A Peck Of Trouble" Billy gets into mischief on the sidewalks of town. First he knocks over a table of goods, enters a food market to eat some sausage, and ends up in the park where he wrestles a man with gout. Escapade #6) "In The Movies" A very misleading title. Billy enters an elderly lady's house to look for food and sees himself in a mirror. While looking at himself, he "practices facial expressions for the movies" before getting evicted by the home owner. Escapade #7) "In Playing Circus" Two Circus performers set up their props at a boarding house to rehears, Billy decides to join in but accidentally ejects the landlord when she walks in.
Further escapades are unknown, but the last one invites you back for more.
The motion of the goat is sometimes achieved by stop motion animation, possibly a toy goat is used. The easy stunts, such as eating, are done by a real goat.
