Strangely familiar
red-671-1256494 March 2010
This short displays a distinct lack of visual dexterity, a shame as the creators were obviously using CGI and so could have come up with just about any visual scenario they wished. The visual environments weren't linked to the plot in any way.

Acting was a little half-hearted. While Ruth Negga is an admirable actress the male lead didn't have much charisma - did the leading actor drop out just before shooting and have to be replaced by the directors scruffy mate? Worst of all I found the film's plot strangely familiar with a concept almost identical to a previous short (called Ten Minute Movie), except less well executed. Guess there's only so many short film plots to go around, eh?

About as much fun as you can cram into three minutes

Warning: Spoilers
This is a cute little three minute film that made me laugh because it chose to step outside of the normal conventions of a short film. It all begins with a man on the screen with an aqua colored background. Suddenly a woman appears and the guy informs her that there are only three minutes left in the film and they must do SOMETHING to keep the audience interested. Being a guy, he suggests they make out, but she isn't having any of that! So, he suggests they use their imagination and go anywhere or do anything and the scenes rapidly shift from the beach to Antarctica. Sadly, however, even the change of scenery didn't seem to help. Is there some way that the guy will get the girl? Tune in yourself to this funny and highly imaginative short.

So much fun..

Only discovered this little gem of a short with two top Irish talents, a couple of months ago.

Risteard Cooper, who has now established his dramatic chops on the stage is his usual wonderfully chaotic comedic self and it was so fun to see Ruth Negga, so SO powerfully talented in dramatic roles, just having a ball.

Over amorous man meets utterly disinterested and distracted woman. Crams in so much fun, both verbal and visual into 3 minutes.

Always fun to see actors early in their career, even better when it's someone like Negga and something frothy like this
