Anachronisms: During one of the flashbacks of the Funnybones performances, Edith plays a famous tune called "Sabre Dance" on the xylophone. However this would be impossible since the song was not composed until the 1940's and the flashbacks are said to be in 1934. moreFAQ

As a new story it is passable.
As a remake of the book (made already with Joan Hickson by the BBC), this is poor.
To enjoy this at it's best, ignore that this is supposed to be an Agatha Christie story, and treat it as a new story by a ghostwriter with the same character of Miss Marple. That is, if you have enough free time to fill that warrants you to watch this in the first place - it is, unlike the BBC original, not worth seeking out to watch.
In reality, this is an attempt by Granada to make money by extending the Miss Marple / Agatha Christie franchise and make sales on the good name of the existing stories and productions. Were the exact same script used without seeking to portray the story as linked to Agatha Christie (and with a change of name for Miss Marple), this story wouldn't be as hyped as it is.
Treat this as something to see if you happen upon it and need some time to fill. If you wish to see it as a true Miss Marple / Agatha Christie production, then bear in mind that this is driven by marketing and money, albeit, no doubt, claimed to be driven by artistic and dramatic interpretations.
