Taylor Momsens teen angst

30 December 2009 5:20 PM, PST | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen has revealed that she is fed up with adults refusing to take her band The Pretty Reckless seriously just because she is a teenager. The 16-year-old actress shot to fame with a starring role in 2000 movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and she admitted that she has struggled to shake off her child-star tag. But the Underdog actress insisted that she is wise beyond her years – and that she is desperate for her rock band's efforts to be respected. She said: 'I think people don't really take me seriously because I'm 16. And they think most 16-year-olds don't know what they want to do. But I actually really do, because »

Faris, Aykroyd, and Timberlake in ‘Yogi Bear’

6 November 2009 12:55 PM, PST | newsinfilm.com | See recent newsinfilm news »

Anna Faris, Dan Aykroyd, and Justin Timberlake are in negotiations for Warner Bros’ live-action/CGI hybrid feature Yogi Bear.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Faris will play Rachel, a nature documentary filmmaker shooting Yogi and Boo-Boo for her next project.  Though her last movie was voice work for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Faris’ character will be a live-action performance.

Aykroyd will lend the voice of Yogi Bear, the picnic basket-stealing menace to Jellystone Park.  Timberlake will provide the vocals for Boo-Boo, his bow-tied sidekick.  Both bears are expected to remain pantless.  No word on which lucky actor gets to play the Park Ranger.  Is Jason Lee available for a paycheck?

WB is planning to shoot it in New Zealand next month with director Eric Bravig (Journey to the Center of the Earth).  I bet you can’t wait to hear the range Timberlake exhibits in this one.  Shrek the Third »

10 August 2009 7:34 PM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Well the 2009 summer movie season is over for Hasbro and it has been financially successful. Transformers 2 has milked the entire world economy of over $800 million dollars, while G.I. Joe managed to drain the globe of $100 million this past weekend.  So what does that mean for Hasbro their future releases?

Well Steve “Frosty” Weintraub over at Collider managed to catch Brian Goldner, President and C.E.O of Hasbro, before a special screening of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and got some interesting answers about a few upcoming projects: Stretch Armstrong, Candy Land, Battleship and Monopoly.

Stretch Armstrong

First up is Stretch Armstrong, the toy no one played with (seriously do you know anyone that owned one when you were a kid?). According to Goldner, Stretch will be the first movie released out of the lot, with a planned release of 2011. Now I know what you are thinking, »

Where’s Waldo Movie: Apocalypto Easter Egg Turned Feature Film?

1 June 2009 2:47 PM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

Alright now I know there have been a lot of ridiculous licensed movies popping up in the trades lately; everything from board games to toys to Bazooka Joe [1]. Amazingly, these hare-brained ideas just keep multiplying, and this week The Hollywood Reporter [2] tells us that a Where's Waldo movie is being set up over at Universal. That's right, a movie based on the series of children's books with no story at all, just large illustrated scenes with a guy in a red and white striped shirt hidden somewhere in them. On the big screen. Sounds thrilling. The movie will be a live-action family adventure of sorts, with Waldo and his dog Woof stumbling across a malfunctioning travel machine. Eric Ellenbogen (Underdog) will executive produce through Christopher Meledandri's company Illumination Entertainment, who are also doing Ricky Gervais's Flanimals film [3]. Believe it or not, this project has been around for a few years now, »
